Actress, TV Star, singer and celebrity icon
BRIGITTE NIELSEN – BIOGRAPHY

With her cropped blonde hair, never-ending legs and beautiful bone structure, there’s no denying that Brigitte Nielsen is one of the World’s most striking actresses and TV stars. However, the stunning celebrity icon, who is fluent in four languages (Danish, English, Italian and Geman), is equally as impressive on the intellectual side, too, Brigitte first got a taste of the media spotlight at the beginning of the '80s, when she worked as a fashion model. She was booked to model for top designers such as Armani and Valentino and was photographed by some of the World’s most renowned photographers including Helmut Newton and Francesco Scavullo.

In 1985, Brigitte chose to venture out from modeling and turned her hand to acting when she took the lead role in the successful movie, Red Sonja, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the same year she met and married actor Sylvester Stalloneand the couple went on to act in two hit movies together Rocky IV and Cobra, before divorcing in 1987. Whilst continuing to act, Brigitte chose to pursue her love of singing by launching a music career. Shortly after her divorce from Stallone in 1987, she released her debut album ‘Every Body Tells A Story’ in that year and recorded a duet with Austrian pop star Falco called "Body Next To Body" which went to No.22 in Germany and No.6 in Austria.

In 1990, she recorded a single called 'Rockin' Like A Radio', plus a follow-up album, 'I'm The One.. Nobody Else', in 1992. Although the album wasn’t a huge success, Brigitte didn’t give up on her musical aspirations and decided to make a music comeback in 2000 when she recorded the dance track 'No More Turning Back'under the pseudonym of ‘Gitta’. The song reached No.1 in the charts in Spain and topped several other European dance charts. Other tracks recorded as Gitta were 2001's "Tic Toc" and 2002's "You're No Lady", a collaboration with Ru Paul.

Throughout 1997-2000, Brigitte also starred in an array of USA and European cinema movie releases including Beverly Hills Cop II, Galaxis and The Double O Kid. In the late 90s, she hosted an English language talk show that was broadcast across Europe, to much acclaim. Television work also flooded in over the years, with Brigitte’s more recent hit shows being the VH1 celebrity reality show, The Surreal Life (2004), in which she was seen flirting with Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav. Soon after the pair became a couple and VH1 gave them their own spin-off reality show called Strange Love. In late 2004, Nielsen appeared in the Danish TV show, Big Brother VIP and then. in January 2005, she was also a contestant in the British equivalent, Celebrity Big Brother, along with her former mother-in-law Jackie Stallone and the writer Germaine Greer.. Brigitte appeared with Flavor Flav again when she guest-starred on Flav's other reality show, Flavor Of Love, in 2006.

In the same year, she appeared in another reality TV series, VH1's The Surreal Life: Fame Game and, in March 2007, she starred in a new TV documentary called Voyage: Killing Brigitte Nielsen, which aired on Sky Travel. Brigitte’s most current TV project credit is Celebrity Rehab, which aired in January 2008 on VH1 and saw her undergo professional help to cure her alcohol and smoking addictions.
